Custom software for businesses that have outgrown their tools.
We design and engineer the platforms, portals and internal systems that off-the-shelf products can't model. Scoped in writing before we start, delivered in milestones you can test, and handed over in your own accounts.
- Fixed, itemised quote first
- A working build every two weeks
- Full code and IP handover
The signs your business has outgrown its tools.
Most clients don't come to us wanting software. They come because something that used to work quietly stopped working. If two or more of these sound familiar, it's worth a conversation.
- 01
Critical work lives in spreadsheets
Pricing, stock or schedules sit in files only one person fully understands, and every update goes round as a new version.
- 02
Your tools don't talk to each other
The same order gets typed into three systems, and the end of every month goes on reconciling them by hand.
- 03
You pay for software you work around
Fees grow with every seat and add-on, yet the most important part of the job still happens outside them.
- 04
Your process is your advantage
The way you quote, schedule or approve is what sets you apart, and no generic product models it without flattening it.
- 05
Customers want to serve themselves
Clients and partners expect to order, track progress and download documents without calling your team.
- 06
An old system is holding you back
It still runs, just. Nobody wants to touch it, it doesn't work on a phone, and every change takes weeks.
Sometimes the honest answer is not to build.
Custom software costs more up front. It pays back when your process is what sets you apart, and it doesn't when an existing product already fits. This is how we weigh it with you.
| Consideration | Off-the-shelf product | Custom software |
|---|---|---|
| Fit with your process | Off-the-shelf productYou change how you work to suit the product | Custom softwareThe product is shaped around how you work |
| Cost to start | Off-the-shelf productLow, a monthly subscription | Custom softwareHigher, a one-time build |
| Cost as you grow | Off-the-shelf productRises with every seat, plan and add-on | Custom softwareMostly hosting and upkeep |
| Ownership | Off-the-shelf productYou rent access, the vendor owns the roadmap | Custom softwareYou own the code, the data and the roadmap |
| Integrations | Off-the-shelf productWhatever the vendor chooses to support | Custom softwareWhatever your business needs connected |
| Edge over competitors | Off-the-shelf productThe same tool anyone can buy | Custom softwareBuilt around what makes you different |
| The right choice when | Off-the-shelf productYour process is standard | Custom softwareYour process is your advantage |
If an existing product does the job, we'll tell you on the first call and point you to it. You keep the budget, and we'd rather earn the project that genuinely needs us.
Systems that run the business, not just the website.
Every build is different, but most take one of these shapes. Many projects combine two or three of them.
- 01
Operations platforms
The core system for orders, jobs, stock and scheduling. It replaces the patchwork of sheets and apps with one place everyone works from.
- Order and job management
- Inventory
- Scheduling and dispatch
- Custom ERP modules
- 02
Customer and partner portals
A secure, branded space where clients, vendors or franchisees place orders, follow progress, pay and download what they need.
- Client portals
- Dealer and vendor portals
- Self-service booking
- Document access
- 03
Workflow and approval systems
Multi-step processes with roles, rules and sign-offs, so work moves forward on its own and every decision leaves a record.
- Approval chains
- Role-based access
- Audit trails
- Alerts and escalations
- 04
Integrations and automation
We connect the tools you keep, from accounting and payments to CRM and messaging, so data is entered once and flows everywhere it's needed.
- Tally and Zoho
- Razorpay and Stripe
- WhatsApp Business API
- CRM and ERP sync
- 05
Dashboards and reporting
Live numbers drawn straight from your systems, so decisions don't wait for someone to compile a spreadsheet.
- Management dashboards
- Scheduled reports
- Exports and analytics
- 06
Legacy modernisation
We move an ageing system onto a modern stack in stages, keeping the business running and the data intact throughout.
- System audit
- Phased rebuilds
- Data migration
- Mobile-ready screens
A clear path from first call to a system in production.
Large builds go wrong in the gap between what was asked for and what gets built. Every stage ends with something you can review, so that gap closes early.
- 01
Discovery
We sit with the people who'll use the system, map how work really flows today, exceptions included, and agree what the first release has to do.
You get- Written scope
- Clickable prototype
- Fixed quote
- 02
Architecture
We design the data model, the integrations and the hosting, and choose the stack for the problem in front of us rather than out of habit.
You get- Architecture plan
- Data model
- Integration map
- 03
Build in sprints
Two-week sprints on a staging link you can use, each ending with a demo and a decision about what comes next.
You get- Working build
- Sprint notes
- Staging access
- 04
Launch
We move your data across, train your team and roll out in stages, with a way back if anything misbehaves.
You get- Data migration
- Team training
- Rollback plan
- 05
Support and growth
After launch we monitor, fix and keep improving the system, or hand it to your own team with everything they need to run it.
You get- Monitoring
- Updates and fixes
- Documented handover
What we build is yours. In writing.
Software you'll run for years shouldn't tie you to the people who wrote it. Once the work is paid for it's yours outright, handed over in accounts you control.
- 01
Code and IP
Full ownership of the code and design files passes to you on payment. No licence fees, ever.
- 02
Your own accounts
Repositories, hosting, stores and domains are handed over in your name, not kept in ours.
- 03
Documentation
Setup guides, architecture notes and a record of key decisions, so any capable team can pick it up.
- 04
Confidentiality
We sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive, and treat your data that way throughout.
Built to be relied on for years, not just launched.
The work you never see decides whether a system survives its second year. These come standard on every build, not as an upsell.
- Security
Secure by default
Role-based access, encrypted data, audit logs on sensitive actions, and dependencies kept patched.
- Performance
Fast under real load
Indexing, caching and background jobs planned from the start, so it stays quick as the records pile up.
- Quality
Tested where it matters
Automated tests on the critical paths, like money, permissions and imports, and a review on every change.
- Reliability
Watched in production
Error tracking, uptime alerts and backups, so we hear about a problem before your team does.
- Scale
Ready to grow
Clear boundaries between modules, so new features, users and integrations don't mean a rewrite.
- Clarity
Readable by the next team
Typed, consistent code and plain-English documentation that a new developer can follow without us.
Proven technology, chosen for the problem.
We pick tools your future team can hire for and that will still be maintained in five years. Nothing experimental on your budget.

Start where you are, with a fixed quote first.
Every engagement starts with an itemised proposal. Pick the model that fits what you already know.
- 01Discovery sprintThe problem is clear, the solution isn't yet
- 02Fixed-scope buildRequirements are understood and agreed
- 03Dedicated product teamThe product is live and keeps growing
Work that shows how we do it.
Real projects where custom software development did the heavy lifting, from the brief to launch.
Need something more specific?
Custom software is the right place to start when the system itself is the problem. If one of these describes you better, start there instead.
- Product ModernisationYou already have a system, and it's the ageing code that's holding you back.
- AI Automation & AgentsThe work is repetitive admin that agents could take off your team.
- SaaS Product DevelopmentYou're selling software to many customers, with accounts, plans and billing.
- MVP DevelopmentYou're testing a new product idea and need the smallest version that proves it.
- Mobile App DevelopmentYour users work from their phones, in the field or on the move.
- Ongoing Product EngineeringThe system is live and needs a steady team to keep improving it.
Questions
The things people
ask us first.
If yours isn’t here, send it over. We reply within 1 hour, guaranteed, and you’ll get a straight answer rather than a brochure.
How much does custom software development cost?
+
It depends on the number of user roles, workflows and integrations, and how much existing data has to move across. Rather than quote a range that means little, we scope the first release with you and send a fixed, itemised quote before any work starts. Many clients begin with a focused first release and expand once it's paying for itself.
How long does a custom software project take?
+
The timeline is set during discovery, once the scope is clear, and written into the proposal as milestones. We work in two-week sprints, so you're using a working build long before the final release rather than waiting months to see anything.
Who owns the code?
+
You do. Once the work is paid for, full ownership of the code and design files passes to you, and everything is handed over in your own accounts. Where we use our own reusable components, you get a permanent, royalty-free licence to them as part of your system.
Can you work with the systems we already use?
+
Usually, yes. We integrate with accounting, payment, CRM, ERP and messaging tools through their APIs, and where there's no API we work with exports, files or scheduled syncs. Part of discovery is agreeing which system stays the source of truth for each kind of data.
Is custom software better than an off-the-shelf product?
+
Only when your process is specific enough that bending it to fit a product would cost more than building one. If an existing tool fits, we'll say so. A common middle path is keeping the products that work and building the missing piece around them.
How do you keep the project on budget?
+
By fixing the scope of each release in writing before we start, and showing you working software every two weeks. If something new comes up mid-project, we price it as a change for you to approve, rather than letting it quietly grow the bill.
Do you sign an NDA?
+
Yes, before you share anything sensitive. Our terms also carry confidentiality obligations that continue after the project ends.
Can you take over or rebuild an existing system?
+
Yes. We start with a short audit of the code, data and infrastructure, then tell you honestly what's worth keeping and what needs replacing. Where a rebuild makes sense, we plan it in stages so the business keeps running throughout.
What happens after launch?
+
We offer ongoing support covering monitoring, fixes, updates and new features, on a monthly retainer or in agreed blocks. If you'd rather run it in-house, we hand over the documentation and walk your team through the system.
